Registering with International Reagent Resources The IRR acquires, authenticates, produces and distributes a variety of materials within several biosafety levels and of varying intellectual property categories. To order from IRR, 1) your institution must have a signed user agreement* with ATCC and 2) you must be a registered user. IRR recommends having at least two registered users per institution. Registration begins with the submission of the documents listed below. Your IRR Registration Application and scope of use will determine the reagents you can access. Ensure your scope of use addresses all reagent types you are requesting. The BSL checklist should correspond to the biosafety level of the reagent types requested, not necessarily your laboratory's biosafety level. To register select one of the two options and follow the registration directions. OPTION 1 - If you want to register but your institution does not have a user agreement*: Please choose the packet that corresponds to the appropriate BSL. BSL checklists must be signed by your lab's safety officer. The User Agreement must be signed by someone with legal authority to bind the organization – a duly authorized official at your institution. The Application and UA Acknowledgement are signed by the registrant.
Level 1 Registration Packet - (For BSL 1 - contains Registration Application, User Agreement, UA Acknowledgement)
Level 2 Registration Packet - (For BSL 2 - contains Registration Application, User Agreement, UA Acknowledgement, BSL 2 Checklist)
Level 2+ enhanced Registration Packet - (For greater than BSL 2 - contains Registration Application, User Agreement, UA Acknowledgement, BSL 2+ enhanced Checklist). For "increased caution," refer to Biosafety in Microbiological and Biomedical Laboratories, 5th Edition
OPTION 2 - If you want to register and your institution has a user agreement*: Please fill out the IRR Registration Application, the Acknowledgement of the IRR User Agreement, and the appropriate BSL checklist (for reagents with a BSL level of 2 or greater).
IRR Registration Application - signed by the registrant (for registration only, do not place orders on this form)
Acknowledgement of IRR User Agreement - signed by the registrant
Biosafety Level 2 Checklist - signed by a safety officer

For updates on registration status, contact us. *Each IRR registrant institution is required to sign a User Agreement (UA) with the ATCC®. The institution is responsible for ensuring all IRR registrants associated with the institution are aware of, and accept the terms of the UA. The UA is an agreement that governs the transfer of research materials between two organizations. The UA is not intended to limit the distribution of biological materials for non-commercial research purposes. The UA program for the use of IRR products in research applications protects the ability of the CDC and ATCC® to supply free reagents for the benefit of the public health community. The document defines the duties of the recipients and their institutions, including the responsibility to properly handle, use, and dispose of the materials according to applicable laws and regulations. test
